Hello.... I'm wondering how do I get started?. I need dancers (paid..not a fortune but fair) for a few pieces live and on dv/film...but I am an independent...(not covered by a company, grants, insurance or the like..and virturally paranoid if anyone gets hurt or other disaster )...and any other legalities. Am I over reacting?. What is the best way to proceed? ...Thanks in advance!!.

I don't think we'll be able to be much help, I'm afraid. Your question is outside the scope of our board -- we're a discussion group, and focus on talking about performances, books, videos, etc.

I would think, though, that the logical place to start would be local studios; that's where the dancers are. Talk to the managers/teachers there, see if they think your project would be of interest to their dancers.
