Helene
Foreign Correspondents are long-time members of Ballet Talk who report to us about ballet and major companies outside North America. With their language skills and knowledge of ballet they are able to give us a clear reading on happenings of the major companies in their countries of expertise, and a read on both native language critics and the local ballet audiences. We have created a special group in recognition of their contribution to the board.

Foreign Correspondents may post about their subjects without attribution. You can identify Foreign Correspondents by their group, which is listed under their names in their posts.

Natalia has graciously agreed to be our Foreign Correspondent for Russia, including performances by Russian artists with non-Russian dance companies. We are very grateful that she has accepted this role.

What a good idea! Looking forward to seeing what people have to say.
Helene
I'd also like to welcome Estelle as our Foreign Correspondent from France.
Amy Reusch
Foreign to whom?

Could we perhaps instead name them simply Correspondent from France and Correspondent for Russia, etc.?

Foreign to whom?
The title is a reference to a movie, connoting 1940's glamour and intrigue, as well as an honored profession.
sandik
Does the job come with a costume then, or even just a hat.

Always happy for more glamor and intrigue.

Sounds better... what movie?
Leigh Witchel
If my old job here came with a beanie, and Giannina is incomparable in her Welcome Lady Hat and Pearls, the least we could bestow on Natalia and Estelle is the foreign correspondents' trenchcoat and Smith-Corona typewriter.
carbro
I think on their heads, a fedora with a card reading "PRESS" stuck into the hat band. On their bodies, charcoal-colored (of course!) . . .
