(I'm sorry if this should be asked elsewhere... I took a guess at this forum for the query)

It seems I'm headed to Boston Ballet to see Swan Lake for Mothers Day. I was wondering who would be dancing but can't seem to find the info anywhere on their site. This seems a bit odd, as last Fall I was able to find out the casting for Sylphide. Anyone have any leads for me?

Amy - Casting was up, but it appears as though they have removed it. I am speculating that due some injuries this past weekend and the numerous principal changes that took place, they are not sure of casting for next weekend. I will see what I can find out and pm you.

I went to the matinee on Saturday. Nelson Madirigal was supposed to dance the lead and he did not. There were other changes as well. I'm sorry to hear that there are injuries. Nevertheless, the production was beautiful! I was more than impressed with staging and choreography! Have a great time! smile.gif

Mother and I will be there this weekend as well. Whatever the casting, although I do have favorites, I am sure I will enjoy it. I've always loved BB's Swan Lake, and hope it hasn't changed too much since I last saw it.

Have a wonderful time! I know I did. smile.gif The production is absolutely stunning. I never saw this company perform this ballet before; however, my opinion is that it is well done. I think it was the best performance of the season. I can't wait for Three Masterpieces now. smile.gif

i guess whether or not it's changed depends on when you saw it last; the costumes and sets will be the same as they were in 1990, but since the current director arrived it is a different production.

Actually, this year it will look very different from previous years as they have rented different sets from Ballet West as well.

smile.gif She was my very first Giselle (that wasn't on video, anyway) so I have a sentimental attachment, but she's been great in everything else I've seen her in as well. I read that in 2004, Lorna danced the part of Odette while Lorena played Odile. I wish I could have seen that!

I'm also hoping to see Yury Yanowsky with Lorna Feijoo -- he was supposed to partner her opening night, I believe.

Lorna was injured for last weekend (nothing too serious, but enough to cause her not to dance), but DD tells me she is currently rehearsing. DD will stop by today before classes and I'll see if I can confirm line-up. I hope Lorna performs, as she is a beautiful Odette/Odile. Larissa was stunning though, I must say. I was sorry not to see Romi Beppu, who did it last time they did Swan Lake, and I was hoping to see her grow in that role. Oh well.
