Thanks for that link Alexandra. I had Clinton as a teacher in So. Calif. in the 70s and he is exceptional as a teacher as well as choreographer (and dancer in his prime). I wonder what the disagreement in running the company was about. I would think it would be hard for his wife to remain at the school after his termination. I can't imagine staying in the Huntsville area if he has a non-compete clause for a year. Maybe private coaching would be acceptable? Whatever transpires, best of luck to him wherever he goes next.
Clinton has been in California teaching at Riverside, he has actually taught there every summer he had been at Community Ballet with Glenda Carhartt. Clinton realized after being with CBA he truly wanted to be just a ballet master not an AD. You are absolutely right about his excellent teaching skills and choreography he brought our dancers to a level that we never thought possible. He wanted nothing to do with the school section of CBA which is actually our cash flow. Without growing the school there would be no company nor employees for that matter. I wish he and his wife the very best in their new venture. He is actually teaching in Fayetteville Tennessee until he is eligible to teach in the state of Alabama in February of 2009. His wife will be taking charge of the new school and company until then. You can visit their website at www.academyofclassicarts.com.
