It's "news" indeed. And sad news. I haven't seen the Joffrey regularly for a long time, but they toured to our town this past winter. I couldn't take my eyes off one of the women, whose technique, total emotional investment, and stage presence were truly magnificent. During the fist intermission, I referred to the dancer photos in my program, It was Maia Wilkins. The ballets were pop -- including
Deuce Coupe -- but the dancer was a real ballerina. What a loss for Chicago!
