Thanks, volcanohuner. Is Agnes Letestu the only female etoile at POB? Either she or M-A Gillot seem to star in all of their DVDs. Whatever happened to Aurelie Dupont?

Apparently Neumeier insisted it must be Letestu and no one else, even though her original partner had been injured and replaced by another who hadn't danced the role earlier.

I believe Dupont was on maternity leave at the time. For what it's worth, the DVD does feature two other female etoiles.

The American release date is June 30, and the ballet can now be pre-ordered at Amazon in both DVD and Blu-Ray formats. Search for 'La Dame aux camelias'.

The DVD isn't available from Amazon until the end of the month, but the DVDs are already available on Netflix. Mine came this weekend. It's a 2-disc set, but Netflix is counting the 2 discs as 1 (so if you pay for a 3-disc account, you'll actually have 4 DVDs out at once).

The second disc includes a 53-minute documentary. There is no rehearsal footage, but as with the POB's previous releases of Jewels and Cinderella, interviews are interspersed with clips from the performance. In this case the interviewees are John Neumeier, Brigitte Lefèvre, Agnès Letestu, Stéphane Bullion, Delphine Moussin, José Martinez, Dorothée Gilbert, pianist Emmanuel Strosser and wardrobe manager Dominique Gay. Subtitles are available in English (excluding Neumeier), French (Neumeier only), German, Spanish and Italian.
