Former MCB principal dancer Yann Trividic is returning to the company to prepare for the lead role -- the Poet -- in Edward Villella's Neighborhood Ballroom. He left in 2004 and his just completed his degree in osteopathic medicine in France.
Trividic took only a few balletclasses while in school. The plan is to work a month or so with the company to regain strength, return to France to begin his practice, and than come back to Miami in the winter for the rehearsals and February performances.

I remember Trividic from my first 3 seasons of MCB-watching. He had a marvelous stage presence. This worked especially well in Neighborhood Ballroom, a series of 4 episodes in the history of a dance hall: Waltz/ Quick Step/ Fox-Trot/ and Mambo. Without a powerful and, frankly, sexy male lead, the story line and dancing simply will not support a full-evening. Energy flags and the mind and eye begin to wander. Trividic held it all together. His replacements since he left have not have not. Welcome back, Yann.
